Society Mission Statement

Our Vision is defined by our Mission, our Goals and Objectives, and our Value Statements. This is how we define our organization, and how we conduct and drive our work. Closely related to this is our Code of Ethics.

Mission

The Canadian Cybersecurity Advocacy Society (CCAS) was created to help advance the state of cybersecurity regulations, frameworks, standards, practices, and certifications in Canada. Although Canadian regulations are quite advanced in some respects, they also fall behind the EU and US in other ways. Our goal is to help identify these gaps, and advocate for improved standards and practices.

Goals and Objectives

In order to achieve our mission, our goal is to (1) research the state of cybersecurity in Canada, (2) analyze any gaps and issues we find, (3) identify improvements to be made, and (4) communicate and advocate for improvements.

  1. Research
  2. Analysis
  3. Identify
  4. Communicate and Advocate

our objective is to conduct cybersecurity research, analysis, advocacy, and communication. Our goal is to share our findings through position papers, and provide education and awareness. We aim to provide effective, efficient resources that can be used by cybersecurity professionals as well as business leaders, particularly in smaller organizations without the cybersecurity resources and capabilities of larger organizations.

Values

We strive to be:

Transparent

We remain transparent and accountable by monitoring and communicating not just the outcomes of our research, but our goals, plans, and progress along the way.

Objective

We are driven to remain objective, ensuring the integrity and independence of our research and advocacy work.

Constructive

We believe in a bright future for the state of cybersecurity in Canada. The time we invest allow those in the Canadian cybersecurity community to have a profound, transformative impact on society.
